Basketball Game Preview: Morris Redskins vs. Serena Huskers

The Morris Redskins will head out to square off against the Serena Huskers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Morris will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Sycamore, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Morris walked away with a 70-59 win over Sycamore on Tuesday. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Spartans are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Serena beat Somonauk/Leland 50-37 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Huskers in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Serena's record now sits at 23-6. As for Morris, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-5.

Morris strolled past Serena when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 51-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morris since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
