3A Metro - East recap September 4, 2013
Skyview was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in 3A Metro - East. Earlier in the week, the Wolverines triumphed over Alameda 36-28.
Fort Morgan and Berthoud played the most contested game in the league this week, with Fort Morgan eventually emerging with a 17-13 victory. Jared Bohm ran for 139 yards during the win.
Skyview's dynamic duo of Brandon Barringer and Joe Herrera proved to be unstoppable against the Pirates, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Barringer threw for 334 yards and 5 touchdowns and Herrera had 132 yards receiving. Javier Urbina helped Skyview's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 75 yards.
Bill Nelson's team's dynamic duo of Barringer and Herrera proved tough for Alameda to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Herrera was the best wideout in the league this week as the Wolverines bested Keith Gille's team.
Bohm was the best running back in 3A Metro - East this week. Toby McBride also contributed to the rushing game with 67 yards on the ground.
Barringer put up the best numbers in passing as Skyview bested the Pirates.
He went 27-45 with 0 interceptions.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Wolverines' Barringer and Herrera have proven to be a lethal combination. Barringer has thrown for 334 yards this season, while Herrera has 5 catches for 132 yards. Wayne Arnold from Weld Central leads the league in rushing with 184 yards.
The Rebels took down Arvada 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tyler Nebelsick ran for 90 yards and caught 2 passes for 66 yards in the win.
