Basketball Recap: Bedford Takes a Loss

Bedford lost against Forest Hills back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bedford Bisons came up short against the Forest Hills Rangers, falling 59-34. The contest marked the Bisons' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Bedford still got an impressive performance from Aj Koontz, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Forest Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Stohon led the charge by going 9 of 15 on his way to 21 points along with seven boards and five assists. Stohon's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Richardson, who had nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Bedford has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Forest Hills, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Bedford will take on Richland in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Richland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Bedford likes a good challenge. Forest Hills and Bishop McCort will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Forest Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.6 points per game this season.
