Softball Recap: Peoria Notre Dame Gets the Win

Peoria Notre Dame won the last time they faced Centennial and things went their way on Saturday too. The Irish walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Chargers.

Lexie Dallinger-Eaker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ella Tady, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Avery Ginglen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Peoria Notre Dame now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Centennial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coming up, Peoria Notre Dame will challenge Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centennial, they will be playing at home against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
