Preview: Farwell Steers vs. Tascosa Rebels
The Farwell Steers will head out on the road to face off against the Tascosa Rebels at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. Farwell is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Farwell has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Dalhart 54-31. Given Farwell's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Dalhart is ranked 323rd), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Makylee Baldwin was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points. The game was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kennedi Richey, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Tascosa's good fortune finally ran out last Tuesday. They fell 77-65 to Frenship. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Farwell's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Tascosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
