Basketball Recap: Cherokee County Falls to Glencoe in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Cherokee County had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Glencoe Yellowjackets on Thursday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Cherokee County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayquan Diamond, who shot 50% from the field en route to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Perry, who posted 15 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Glencoe's win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Cherokee County will face off against Locust Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Glencoe, they will take on White Plains in a tournament on Monday.
