Sumner is a perfect 10-0 against Curtis since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Sumner will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Curtis at 4:00 p.m. Curtis took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sumner, who comes in off a win.

Sumner is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Puyallup. Sumner walked away with a 7-2 victory over Puyallup last Tuesday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Josslyn Sorensen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Meyers, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Naya Alastra, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Sumner kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Puyallup only managed four hits.

Meanwhile, Curtis came up short against South Kitsap on Thursday, falling 19-1. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Curtis saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Celeste Tavese, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Tavese hit this season.

Everything went Sumner's way against Curtis in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Sumner made off with a 13-3 victory. Will Sumner repeat their success, or does Curtis has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
