Volleyball Recap: Meridian Victorious

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Thursday. Meridian walked away with a 2-0 win over McCool Junction. Meridian hasn't had any issues with McCool Junction recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Meridian took both sets by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-10.

Jetta Stewart paced Meridian's offense, picking up seven kills. Stewart got some help from Olivia Schafer and her 12 assists. Stewart was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The win got Meridian back to even at 3-3. As for McCool Junction, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Meridian will be taking part in a tournament against Fillmore Central at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for McCool Junction, they will take on Harvard in a tournament on Saturday.
