Eli Matson gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in April on Monday. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
