Volleyball Recap: Summit Hilltoppers vs. Rahway Indians
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Summit had no problem doing just that on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rahway Indians , sneaking past 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hilltoppers also won the last time the pair played back in September.
Summit had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-14.
Rahway's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nevaeh Lopez, who had 14 digs, two kills, and two aces.
Summit pushed their record up to 18-10 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Rahway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-19.
