Football Recap: Savannah Country Day Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 34 points the game before, Savannah Country Day was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a blow against the Savannah Christian Raiders, falling 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Raiders are ranked 126th).

Savannah Country Day's loss came despite strong showings from James Pannell and Devin Trawick. Pannell picked up 86 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Trawick rushed for 81 yards on only nine carries.

Savannah Christian was led to victory by Blaise Thomas and Wesley Dinkins. Thomas threw for 286 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes, while Dinkins rushed for 115 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Dinkins has become a key player for the Raiders: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

Savannah Country Day's record is now 2-4. As for Savannah Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
