Baseball Game Preview: St. Ann's Steamers vs. Leman Manhattan Prep Bull

The St. Ann's Steamers will venture away from home to face off against the Leman Manhattan Prep Bull at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, St. Ann's came up short against Collegiate and fell 8-3. The match marked the Steamers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

York Prep hit Leman Manhattan Prep with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bull lost 11-3 to the Panthers. The loss put an end to the Bull's undefeated start to the season.

Leman Manhattan Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riku Kaizuka, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. Kaizuka is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Hudson Scher was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Ann's fell to 7-1-1. As for Leman Manhattan Prep, they dropped their record down to 2-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Everything went St. Ann's way against Leman Manhattan Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as St. Ann's made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Steamers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
