Basketball Game Preview: Broomfield Eagles vs. Overland Trailblazers

The Broomfield Eagles will take on the Overland Trailblazers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Broomfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matchups.

Broomfield is returning to their home court after beating Fairview on theirs, despite the fact Fairview has dominated at home this season. Broomfield came out on top against Fairview by a score of 65-53 on Friday. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but the Eagles were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Overland strolled past Grandview with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 78-64.

Overland had a senior duo take command as Siraaj Ali en route to 22 points and six assists and Dontae Graham on his way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. What's more, Graham posted four assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Manuel, who scored 16 points.

Broomfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points over those games. Overland's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-13.

Broomfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Overland in their previous meeting back in January, winning 80-72. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Manuel, who to rack up 20 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Broomfield still be able to contain Manuel?
