Basketball Recap: Fayetteville Street Christian Takes a Loss

Fayetteville Street Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Abundant Life Christian Academy Knights. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Abundant Life Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nehemias Almanza led the charge by going 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Almanza a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Max Capote, who went 7 for 11 en route to 15 points.

Fayetteville Street Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Abundant Life Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Fayetteville Street Christian is taking a road trip to take on Fellowship Baptist Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Fellowship Baptist Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Fayetteville Street Christian surely won't give up without a fight. Abundant Life Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
