Soccer Game Preview: Jones vs. Tuloso-Midway

The Jones Trojans will square off against the Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Tuloso-Midway is facing Jones at the wrong time: Jones suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Mustangs who were credited with the win. Ingleside got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Jones' one.

Tuloso-Midway will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Calallen, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Tuloso-Midway's defense stepped up to hand Calallen a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Warriors & Cherokees have won four matches by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tuloso-Midway has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five contests. As for Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-1.

Jones was able to grind out a solid victory over Tuloso-Midway when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 3-1. Will Jones repeat their success, or does Tuloso-Midway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
