Volleyball Recap: Perkins Takes a Loss

Perkins lost against Ross back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pirates took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Little Giants. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 22-25, 25-20.

Viera Walker paced Perkins' offense, picking up 15 kills. Walker got some help from Braelyn Davie and her 31 assists. Davie was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Leading Ross to victory were Hayden Dircksen and Tierra Parker. Dircksen had 13 digs and two aces, while Parker had 11 kills and four digs. Parker has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brook Baacke, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Perkins' loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Ross, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Perkins has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Norwalk on the 7th. As for Ross, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Clay on the 7th.
