Volleyball Recap: Hilton Head Prep Takes a Loss

Hilton Head Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Veritas Academy Gryphon. The Dolphins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gryphon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Hilton Head Prep actually scored more points across those five sets (102-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18, 11-25, 23-25, 15-11.

Hilton Head Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Veritas Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Hilton Head Prep will square off against Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Veritas Academy, they will challenge John Paul II at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
