Preview: Lake Buena Vista Vipers vs. East River Falcons
The Lake Buena Vista Vipers will head out on the road to face off against the East River Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Buena Vista will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 374th, while East River is ranked 66th).
On Tuesday, Lake Buena Vista ended up a good deal behind Horizon and lost 64-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lake Buena Vista has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Travis Ligene, who scored seven points. Bryan Mwangovya was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, East River unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hagerty. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lake Buena Vista has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for East River, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-1.
Lake Buena Vista suffered a grim 61-41 defeat to East River when the teams last played back in January. Thankfully for Lake Buena Vista, D.j. White (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
