Baseball Game Preview: Northeast Vikings vs. Masterman

The Northeast Vikings will square off against Masterman at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Northeast will be strutting in after a victory while Masterman will be coming in after a loss.

Northeast is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Samuel Fels on Thursday.

Northeast's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eliezer Garcia-Guzman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Garcia-Guzman has posted since back in April of 2024. Calvin Castro also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Northeast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Masterman fell victim to Friends' Central and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against Friends' Central, falling 15-0. The loss put an end to Masterman's undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Masterman fell to 2-1. As for Northeast, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Northeast might still be hurting after the 19-0 defeat they got from Masterman in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
