Softball Recap: Stanton County Trojans vs. Ulysses Tigers

Stanton County can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Ulysses Tigers with a sharp 14-7 victory. The win was just what Stanton County needed coming off of a 12-2 loss in their prior matchup.

Sidney Parks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Parks has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Parks was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hallie Waldron, who went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. Karlee Nairn was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Stanton County's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Ulysses, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
