Football Game Preview: Lander Valley Tigers vs. Rawlins Outlaws

The Lander Valley Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Rawlins Outlaws at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Lander Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Riverton, who was ranked fourth at the time (Lander Valley was ranked sixth). The Tigers took a 17-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines on Friday. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rawlins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Douglas 47-0.

Rawlins' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Lander Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Lander Valley against Rawlins in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
