Recap: Point Pleasant Big Blacks vs. Scott Skyhawks
The Point Pleasant Big Blacks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-30 victory over Scott. The victory was all the more spectacular given Point Pleasant's disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while Scott is ranked 71st).
McKenna Young went supernova for Point Pleasant, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Young has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Bella Tolliver was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four steals.
Point Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Scott, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. As for Scott, they will face off against Chapmanville Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Scott focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
