Baseball Recap: Rejoice Christian Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Rejoice Christian entered their tilt with Miami on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Wardogs with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 12 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Micah Walker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Rejoice Christian is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 13-14 otherwise. Walker was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Maverick Guinn was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base. Rejoice Christian is undefeated when Guinn posts two or more runs, but 8-14 otherwise. Kai Buntin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Rejoice Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive games.

Rejoice Christian's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-14. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Miami, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rejoice Christian will square off against Catoosa at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Miami, they will take on Webb City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
