Softball Game Preview: Berry Wildcats vs. Marion County Red Raiders

The Berry Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Marion County Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Berry will be strutting in after a win while Marion County will be coming in after a defeat.

It was a proper cat-fight when Berry challenged Hubbertville on Saturday. The Wildcats blew past the Lions 9-1. The Wildcats not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd.

Meanwhile, Marion County came up short against Hubbertville on Tuesday and fell 7-4. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Berry is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Marion County, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-12.

Berry beat Marion County 6-3 when the teams last played on Saturday. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Red Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
