Baseball Recap: Northern Lebanon Wins Going Away Against Cocalico

Northern Lebanon had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Cocalico on Monday. Northern Lebanon was the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over Cocalico. The contest marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Brian Bicksler was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Adrian Gonzalez was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Connor Stoltz, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Northern Lebanon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cocalico only managed five hits.

Northern Lebanon's record is now 4-1. As for Cocalico, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northern Lebanon will square off against Eastern Lebanon County at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cocalico, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Cocalico Eagles take on Cedar Crest Falcons at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
