The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Lincoln, who took down 280th ranked West Lincoln, 36-12.
East Lincoln extended the longest winning streak in 2A/1A Southern Piedmont this week by beating Lake Norman Charter, 35-21. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Lake Norman Charter's dynamic duo of Michael Dorsainvil and Jamon Cunningham proved tough for East Lincoln to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dorsainvil threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns and Cunningham had 67 yards receiving. LaMarcus Smith-Kelly helped Lake Norman Charter's passing attack out by catching six balls for 37 yards.
Cedric Mackey was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 81 yards as Bessemer City fell to Mike Byus' team. Teammate Damian Scott added to the ground attack by rushing for 78 yards.
Dorsainvil has thrown for 1021 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Alex Scearce has 18 catches for 482 yards. Tripp Smith leads the league in rushing with 739 yards.
A big matchup in 2A/1A Southern Piedmont this week will be when Lake Norman Charter takes on Cherryville. At the moment, Lake Norman Charter is in second, while the Ironmen are in fifth.
Lincolnton moved up to 217 from 245 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wolves climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Yellowjackets 48-14.
