Basketball Game Preview: Satellite Scorpions vs. Merritt Island Mustangs

The Satellite Scorpions will challenge the Merritt Island Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Satellite has five straight victories, Merritt Island has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Thursday, Satellite strolled past Merritt Island with points to spare, taking the game 55-36. Given the Scorpions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Mustangs are ranked 595th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Merritt Island's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Satellite, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
