Soccer Game Preview: Maple Mountain vs. Wasatch

Maple Mountain is 2-8 against Wasatch since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wasps at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Maple Mountain sitting on five straight wins and Wasatch on four.

On Tuesday, Maple Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over Spanish Fork, taking the game 3-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wasatch). Their defense stepped up to hand Payson a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Wasatch with their most commanding win of the season.

Wasatch's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Maple Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Maple Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over Wasatch in their previous meeting back in March, winning 3-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wasps have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
