Baseball Recap: Vineland Takes a Loss

If Vineland was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Atlantic County Institute of Tech last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fighting Clan came up short against the Southern Regional Rams on Saturday, falling 8-2. The Fighting Clan haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Vineland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Carter has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Ernie Bernhardt was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Vineland's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Southern Regional, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-11.

Looking ahead, Vineland will take on Kingsway at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
