Softball Recap: Ramona's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Ramona waltzed into their contest on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the La Sierra Eagles 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

La Sierra's batters probably weren't too happy with Kaytlin Stephens, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up zero walks). Stephens has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Olivia Chavez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kylie Guzman, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Ramona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.

Ramona pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for La Sierra, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Coincidentally, Ramona and La Sierra will both be playing Norte Vista the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Braves at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Rams will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
