Baseball Recap: Bedford Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Bedford and Westmont Hilltop meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Bisons fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Bisons have lost by just one run.

Gabe Taylor was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Taylor was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Taylor wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joey Huxta, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Bedford's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Westmont Hilltop, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-8.

Bedford wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-1 win against Bishop Carroll on the 8th. As for Westmont Hilltop, they have also already played their next match, a 10-4 loss against Central Cambria on the 7th.
