Basketball Recap: Galax Comes Up Short

After flying high against Giles last Tuesday, Galax came back down to earth. The Galax Maroon Tide fell 55-44 to the Fort Chiswell Pioneers on Thursday. The Maroon Tide were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 57-42.

Galax's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Fort Chiswell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 18-4 record this season.

Galax will host Bland County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Chiswell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
