Baseball Game Preview: Monroeville Eagles vs. Mapleton Mounties

For the second straight game, Monroeville will face off against Mapleton. The Eagles will take on the Mounties at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Monroeville needed a bit of extra time to put away Mapleton. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mounties 10-9. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Mapleton's part, Gabe Wrobleski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That triple was Wrobleski's first of the season. Landon Jenkins was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Monroeville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Mapleton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.
