Basketball Recap: Vail Christian Piles Up the Points Against Soroco

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Vail Christian's strategy against Soroco on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Vail Christian Saints blew the Soroco Rams out of the water with a 69-40 final score. The Saints pushed the score to 52-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams had little chance of recovering from.

Rayman Romanin was a one-man wrecking crew for Vail Christian as he went 7 for 8 en route to 18 points along with seven assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Oliver Neumann, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points.

Romanin wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Vail Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Soroco lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brayden Dudley, who posted 18 points in addition to five boards and five steals. That was a full 45% of Soroco's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Joseph Cordova was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 14 points.

Vail Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Soroco, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.
