Volleyball Recap: St. Xavier Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

St. Xavier faced Archbishop Moeller in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bombers didn't even let the Fighting Crusaders on the board, marking the Bombers' second-straight 3-0 shutout. The Bombers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Fighting Crusaders, too.

St. Xavier was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-14, 25-18.

Joe Taggart paced St. Xavier's offense, picking up 16 kills. Taggart got some help from Cam Evans and his 36 assists. Taggart was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

St. Xavier's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Archbishop Moeller, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Coming up, St. Xavier will welcome Mt. Vernon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Archbishop Moeller, they will face off against Centerville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
