Baseball Recap: Ferris Comes Up Short

Ferris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Hermiston Bulldogs, falling 14-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Saxons of the 8-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Ferris saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Wright, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Ferris' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hermiston, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Ferris will head out on the road to face off against University at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Ferris' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Hermiston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kamiakin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kamiakin's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Hermiston's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
