Softball Recap: Chambersburg's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Chambersburg barely beat Big Spring the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Trojans have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Chambersburg, bringing their record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Big Spring, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chambersburg will square off against Mechanicsburg at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Big Spring, they will challenge Boiling Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bubblers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.42 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
