Baseball Recap: Denver Academy Takes a Loss

Denver Academy extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-8 in the process. They came up short against the SkyView Academy Hawks, falling 26-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 15-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Denver Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan King, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

As for SkyView Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 33-4).

On SkyView Academy's side, Chris Gallegos was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with eight RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those four hits gave Gallegos a new career-high. Logen Meyers was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denver Academy will host Lyons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for SkyView Academy, they will be playing at home against Fort Lupton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluedevils have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
