Volleyball Recap: Northside Comes Up Short

Northside and Southside faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. The Grizzlies lost 3-0 to the Mavericks. The defeat continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their meetings with the Mavericks: they've now lost three in a row.

Northside was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-14, 25-13.

Rylee Cofey paced Northside's offense, picking up six kills. Cofey got some help from Kamdyn Flemming and her 17 assists. Finally, Elli Brinkley kept Northside's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Northside's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Southside, they pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
