Volleyball Recap: Demi Duncan Key Part of Team Effort in Cardinals Win

St. Anne hadn't done well against Momence recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Momence Athletics by a score of 2-0. The Cardinals were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Momence Athletics, so the Cardinals were just returning the favor.

St. Anne not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Momence between 16 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Anne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Demi Duncan, who had four aces. That's the most aces Duncan has posted over her last eight contests. Another player making a difference was Tatum Kirkland, who had two aces and one block.

They weren't the only good servers: St. Anne was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

St. Anne's record is now 7-8. As for Momence, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

St. Anne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Illinois Lutheran on the 1st. As for Momence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Donovan on the 2nd.
