Basketball Recap: Copper Hills Takes a Loss

Copper Hills had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-1 to make it seven. They were outmatched by the Davis Darts and fell 92-57. The loss put an end to the Grizzlies' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the loss, Copper Hills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Mulford posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Wilson, who had seven points.

As for Davis, the victory got them back to even at 1-1. They haven't had any issues with Copper Hills recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Davis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JT Turley led the charge by shooting 78% from the field to rack up 19 points and eight assists. Another player making a difference was Cameron Brower, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 18 points along with seven boards and three blocks.

Looking ahead, Copper Hills will welcome Layton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies will need to watch out since the Lancers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Davis, they will take on Mountain View at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday.
