Jefferson Area is a perfect 10-0 against Hubbard since August of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Wednesday, Jefferson Area came up short against Edgewood and fell 3-1.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Edgewood scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Hubbard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Salem.
Hubbard actually scored more points across those five sets (102-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 16-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-11.
