Softball Recap: Athens Finds Home Field Redemption Against Lincolnwood

There's no place like home for Athens, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Lincolnwood Lancers with a sharp 11-1 victory on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Isabel Ingram 2026 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Ingram 2026 was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Aubrey Crispen 2027 and Preslie Buckmaster 2027 did most of the damage at the plate: Crispen 2027 scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Buckmaster 2027 went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Reilen Reynolds 2027, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

The win got Athens back to even at 1-1. As for Lincolnwood, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Athens will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on April 8. As for Lincolnwood, they will square off against New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
