Soccer Game Preview: Academy for Classical Education vs. Central

The Academy for Classical Education Gryphons will challenge the Central Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Academy for Classical Education is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Academy for Classical Education's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out East Laurens 1-0. Give Academy for Classical Education's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They put the hurt on Northeast with a sharp 10-0 victory last Tuesday. Adam Guerrero was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

Academy for Classical Education pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Central, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8-1.

Everything went Academy for Classical Education's way against Central in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Academy for Classical Education made off with a 7-0 victory.
