Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Roach's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Friendly over Fairmont Heights

Friendly lost against Fairmont Heights back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Friendly Patriots lost 71-45 to the Fairmont Heights Hornets. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.

Friendly's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Roach, who posted six points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Harvey, who scored six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairmont Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amari Brice-Johnson, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Brice-Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jaden Austin, who went 6 of 9 en route to 16 points.

Friendly dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fairmont Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Friendly has already played their next contest (against Gwynn Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fairmont Heights will venture away from home to face off against Crossland at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Fairmont Heights is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
