Basketball Game Preview: Sanger West Hornets vs. Tranquillity Tigers

The Sanger West Hornets and the Tranquillity Tigers will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Sanger West knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Tranquillity likes a good challenge.

Sanger West is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 93-35 victory over Dos Palos. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 30 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-32, which was the final score in Tranquillity's tilt against McLane on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1246th, while the Highlanders are ranked 494th).

Tranquillity has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Sanger West, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Everything came up roses for Sanger West against Tranquillity in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 70-31 victory. Will Sanger West repeat their success, or does Tranquillity have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
