Softball Recap: Santa Teresa Drops Season-High Score on Ann Sobrato

Santa Teresa extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-18 in the process. They took a 23-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs. On the bright side, the 18- run effort marked the Saints' highest-scoring match to date.

Deanna Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Vidal, who went 3-for-6 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

As for Ann Sobrato, the victory got them back to even at 10-10. The game was the first time they have beaten Santa Teresa on their field since April 23, 2018.

On Ann Sobrato's side, Jordan Bouton was incredible, going 5-for-6 with five runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those five runs gave Bouton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Nava, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Santa Teresa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Branham on the 15th. As for Ann Sobrato, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-1 win against Leigh on the 15th.
