Basketball Recap: University Comes Up Short

University lost against Salado back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The University Trojans took a hard 58-43 fall against the Salado Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 891st, while the Eagles are ranked 322nd).

University's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Salado, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chaparral at 2:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Salado, they are taking a road trip to challenge China Spring at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
