Baseball Recap: Lamphere Comes Up Short

Lamphere fell victim to Lake Shore and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Shorians. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered since April 24th.

Lamphere got a good showing from Ethan Malak, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Malak has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lamphere saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Cox, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Lamphere's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-8. As for Lake Shore, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

While Lamphere had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
