2. Morgantown
2013-14 finish: 18-8
Head coach: Jason White

Morgantown knocked off undefeated Parkersburg South in the Class AAA state finals last year. While coach Jason White does lose two seniors, the majority of last year's squad returns, including a pair of all-state players. Olivia Seggie, a 5-3 senior guard, earned all-state first team honors last year while 5-10 junior forward Sydney Holloway made the third team. Senior shooting guard Sammie Parks earned honorable mention all-state recognition.

The runners-up in Class AA in 2014, Sissonville returns the bulk of last year's squad that won 22 games including an upset win over top-seeded Fairmont in the AA playoffs. 4. Spring Valley (Huntington)
2013-14 finish: 21-3
Head coach: Larry Miller

The Timberwolves did not advance to the state tournament, but they captured first place in the Mountain State Conference and they had a pair of underclassmen make the all-state team. Seniors Madison Morris and Sarah Kelly both made the all-state first team last year, making Spring Valley one of only two teams (Parkersburg South was the other) to have two players on the all-state first team. Kassidy Lemons, another returning senior, earned all-state honorable mention last year.

5. Fairmont
2013-14 finish: 21-2
Head coach: Corey Hines

Fairmont won 21 straight games in 2014 and was the No. 1 seed in the Class AA playoffs, but the Polar Bears lost leading scorer Kaden Whaley to a knee injury and fell to Sissonville in the state playoffs. Whaley returns for her senior season after earning first team all-state honors. She's joined by second team all-state pick Emily Stoller.
